Synopsis

As the Moldovan Republic is preparing for a visit from the General Secretary of USSR, Leonid Brezhnev, Lautar, a poor musician, finally summons up the courage to ask the local gypsy Baron for his daughter’s hand in marriage. To everyone’s surprise, the Baron gives the couple his blessing, but on one condition: Lautar must convince the Soviet leader to come to the wedding as his matchmaker.

티그란 케오사얀

1964년 모스크바 출생. 1984년 러시아 연합 영화학교인 VGIK에 입학, 영화를 공부했다. 91년 <조커 Joker>에서 배우로 첫 영화를 시작한 후 이듬해 첫 장편영화 <캇타와 쉬즈>를 연출했다. 98년 두 번째 연출작 <불쌍한 사샤>로 Kinotavr 영화제 남우주연상, TEFI 최우수작품상을 수상했다. 최근작으로는 동명의 소설을 영화로 한 뮤지컬 <12개의 의자>(2003)가 있다. 영화뿐 아니라 연극, TV 시리즈도 연출하며 다재다능함을 보이고 있으며 2002년엔 <주연배우들 Leading Roles>이라는 TV 시리즈에서 주연을 맡기도 했다.
