Synopsis

Vitus is a boy who almost seems to be from another planet: He has hearing like a bat, he plays the piano like a virtuoso and studies encyclopedias at the age of five. No wonder his parents **begin** to anticipate a brilliant future for him. They want Vitus to become a pianist. However, the little genius prefers to play in his eccentric grandfather’s workshop. He dreams of flying and of a normal childhood. Ultimately, with one dramatic leap, Vitus takes control of his own life...

1940년 생. 영화감독 및 제작자로 다양한 영화들을 만들어왔으며 대표작으로는 <존 Zones> (1979), <만월 Full Moon> (1998), <다운타운 스위스 Downtown Switzerland> (2004) 등이 있다. 1985년 작 <알파인 파이어 Alpine Fire>로 로카르노 영화제에서 황금표범상을 수상하는 등 국내뿐 아니라 국제적으로도 여러 차례 상을 받았다.
