Synopsis
James Blunt is one of the most remarkable recent discoveries in Britpop since the 2000s. His name is widely known, even in South Korea, where his song ‘You’re Beautiful’ was used in a commercial, and his fame has expanded beyond the UK and the US to become international. Blunt, hailing from a family with a long history of military service, has had a unique career path, graduating from a military academy and then serving as a British Army Captain in Kosovo for two years before embarking on a music career. In 2006, Blunt, now an international pop star, revisited Kosovo, where he had been stationed six years earlier, and performed a concert for the troops still there. His own video footage, filmed during his service, reveals the people he met, traces of massacres, and the memories that inspired him, alongside his famous songs such as ‘You’re Beautiful,’ ‘Wiseman,’ ‘High,’ ‘Goodbye My Lover,’ and more. Even though the camp's sound facilities were poor, the live concert, infused with the singer’s personal memories, creates a much more genuine emotional connection to his songs, making it one of the most touching concerts ever.
