Synopsis

Set in the 28th year of the Meiji period (1895), the story unfolds at a Susukino brothel where a beautiful courtesan named Kiyomi resides. This musical historical film explores her glamorous yet melancholic life. The director showcases both wit and ambition in this unique film, which stands out for its striking visuals and original songs.

Ryosuke Ogawa

Born in Sapporo, Japan in 1980, Ryosuke Ogawa studied film production after graduating from high school. He has directed numerous short and medium-length films. In 2006, his film Revenge Begins! Everyone Assemble was invited to the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, and he also served as a supervising director for the film Udon in the same year. Currently, he is based in Sapporo, where he continues his creative work.
