Synopsis

Michel is in his 40s and drifting through life without much purpose—until he decides to take guitar lessons. He finds himself drawn to his music teacher’s roommate, a woman who playfully flirts with him and, coincidentally, shares the same name as the Serge Gainsbourg chanson he’s struggling to learn: “Laetitia.” This delicately crafted, understated film captures the subtle emotions of falling just a little bit in love. It was invited to numerous international film festivals including Berlin and Clermont-Ferrand, and received several awards.

Director

Martin Rit

Born in Paris in 1978, Martin Rit studied philosophy at Aix-en-Provence University before enrolling at La Fémis, the prestigious French national film school, where he majored in cinematography. He currently works both as a director and cinematographer.
