Synopsis
In the summer of 2006, Sigur Rós, upon ending their worldwide tour, returned to their hometown and held several unannounced concerts free of charge in various locations. Dean DeBlois, an old fan of the band and the Academy Award-winning director of *Lilo & Stitch*, captures their musical journey as he follows them with his camera for two weeks. The film covers a variety of locations, from gigantic fish storage facilities that are no longer in use, to small parks without names, farms, and villages submerged underwater due to reckless dam constructions. The film truly explores the meaning of its Icelandic title, *Heima*, meaning 'at home'. In addition, the film offers insights into the band’s musical secrets by showcasing their daily routines, music practices, and interviews explaining their impressions of the concerts, and how they develop their music. However, it is the breathtakingly moving experience of their sophisticated and mystical sound, combined with the excellent natural Icelandic landscapes and monumental concert scenes, that makes *Heima* stand out from other music documentary masterpieces. This film will be showcased for the first time in HD in Korea. (Chun Jin-su)
