Synopsis

One night, a young Mexican boy Antonito sneaks out of the house to see a festival for the first time. As he watches rich people there, Antonito realizes that he is very poor with no pesos for an ice cream. The music and dancing are wonderful, and the crowd dances to exhaustion. But for Antonito it’s been a bust. They head home disappointedly after the festival and fall asleep in a haystack on their way back. Antonito begins to dream of a much better festival.

  • 뉴욕 출생. 극영화, 아동영화, 상업광고, 애니메이션, 다큐멘터리 등 다양한 활동을 하고 있다. 아카데미상 단편부문 수상작인 <앤젤과 빅 조>(1975)에서는 촬영감독을 했었고, 20대 때 만든 단편 애니메이션 <칼립소 가수>는 아직도 사랑 받는 고전이다.
