Synopsis

This film completed after 6 years of production is a documentary about Nana Caymmi, one of Brazil’s most sophisticated singers. She is the daughter of composer Dorival Caymmi, former wife of Gilberto Gil, muse of Milton Nascimento, and childhood friend of Nelson Freire and seen by her peers as Brazil’s greatest singer. This film is dedicated to Nana Caymmi’s ‘The singer’s singer’ leading role in the Brazilian music world in the last 50 years.

  • 1990년부터 음악 다큐멘터리를 연출해왔다. 아르헨티나 피아니스트 마르타 아르헤리치를 다룬 <저녁의 대화>(2002)로 프릭스 이탈리아를 수상했다. 2005년 작품 <음악은 향기 – 마리아 베타니아>는 제2회 제천국제음악영화제에서 상영되기도 했다. 그 밖에도 그레이스 범브리, 핑커스 주커만 등 음악가를 다룬 다큐멘터리를 다수 제작했다.
