Synopsis

This film, completed after 6 years of production, is a documentary about Nana Caymmi, one of Brazil’s most sophisticated singers. She is the daughter of composer Dorival Caymmi, former wife of Gilberto Gil, muse of Milton Nascimento, and childhood friend of Nelson Freire, and is seen by her peers as Brazil’s greatest singer. This film is dedicated to Nana Caymmi’s 'The singer’s singer' leading role in the Brazilian music world over the last 50 years.

  • Since 1990, he has been directing music documentaries. His 2002 work, "Evening Conversation," about Argentine pianist Martha Argerich, won the Prix Italia. His 2005 film "Music is Fragrance – Maria Bethânia" was showcased at the 2nd Jecheon International Music Film Festival. He has also produced numerous documentaries on musicians, including Grace Bumbry and Pinkus Zuckerman.
