Synopsis

“... A nice visit to the shop here instead of having to travel to Rugby” by Wayne Henderson. In Rugby, Virginia, is the workshop of Wayne Henderson, the musician and master craftsman who has made guitars for Doc Watson and Eric Clapton. Learning from the generation before him, Wayne handed down the techniques to the next generation.

  • Started working in 2005 at Apalshop, a nonprofit arts education center. He participated in various non-commercial media art projects and in the spring of 2008 began creating his documentary film. After one year of filming and editing, he completed The Birth of the Guitar.
