Synopsis
The Korea Women’s National Musical, ‘Female Gukgeuk,’ made with Korean traditional narrative song, dance, and acting, where women take on male roles, captivated the hearts of many girls and became overwhelming in the 1950s–60s. Some girls attended the musicals by stealing their parents’ jewelry and lying about it; others abandoned their studies and traveled across the country. But today, why has it disappeared from history without a single person remembering it? What happened to the girls who went off at that time? *Girl Prince* looks back at the traces of *Female Gukgeuk* that have not been recorded in history.
