Synopsis

A unique, poetic documentary film essay about the American opera singer Maria Callas. The director recreates her portrait based on interviews with Maria Callas and comments by the Italian stage director Luchino Visconti and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini, and traces her inner conflict between the life of a woman ‘Maria’ and the opera singer ‘Callas.’
