Synopsis

Turning takes the viewer into the world of Antony and the Johnsons as they tour their live concert/performance work, ‘Turning’. The last few years Antony has been working in close collaboration with video artist Charles Atlas. The preliminary result is the critically acclaimed concert ‘Turning’, which is a subtle journey into the feminine universe with Antony's music floating into your ears and Charles Atlas’s pictures in your eyes. 13 ‘beauties’ – transgendered women - spinning slowly in the mobile arena. Antony works, both in his performances and in his songs, in a way that examines and challenges traditional perception of identity.
