Synopsis

Nelson is a 45-year-old musician in Uruguay’s Air Force band, and has played the trumpet for more than 20 years. He feels discontented with his dead-end job. After his wife leaves him, Nelson falls into a depression, believing he has not achieved anything of significance in his life. A music contest in town presents Nelson with the possibility of an impending promotion, but he would have to travel to Antarctica on the exact date of the contest’s finale. Nelson must choose between his military career and the pursuit of a life-long dream.

  • Guillermo Rocamora
  • Guillermo Rocamora studied communications at the National University of Uruguay and worked as an assistant director with several directors, including Eric Zonca and Federico Veiroj. In 2004, he made his first short film *Relations*, and in 2006, he created the short film *Wonderful Trip*, which was invited to the Cannes Film Festival. *Solo* is his feature film debut.
