Synopsis

Nelson is a 45 years old musician in Uruguay’s Air Force band, and has played the trumpet for more than 20 years. He feels discontented with his dead-end job. After his wife leaves him, Nelson falls into a depression, believing he has not achieved anything of significance in his life. A music contest in town presents Nelson with the possibility of an impending promotion but he would have to travel to Antarctica on the exact date of the contest’s finale. Nelson must choose between his military career and the pursuit of a life-long dream.

  • 기예르모 로카모라는 우루과이 국립대학에서 커뮤니케이션을 전공했고, 에릭 종카와 페데리코 베이로이 감독을 비롯한 여러감독의 조감독을 거쳤다. 2004년 첫 단편 <관계>를 찍었고, 2006년에는 단편 <멋진 여행>을 만들어 칸영화제에 초청받기도 했다. <솔로>는 그의 장편 데뷔작이다
