Synopsis

Set against the backdrop of a hot summer at the Verona campground, two kids from feuding families, the Montagues and the Capulets, notice each other for the first time. With naivety, they put aside all their parents' hatred and discover that they alone can turn their households' rancor into pure love. Falling madly in love with each other, the two kids enlist the help of Friar, the campground vagabond, who marries them in a secret ceremony. However, before Romeo and Juliet can announce their marriage, events set them on a path that tests their love. This trailer-park rock opera reinterprets Shakespeare's original language as an innovative musical score for a new generation.

  • Tim van Dammen graduated from the University of Auckland and has worked with New Zealand's top artists, creating numerous music videos. He also founded a production company, 'Blur and Sharpen,' through which he has produced over 140 music videos. His first feature film, *Romeo and Juliet: A Love Song*, was also made through this company.
