Synopsis

Liz and Alexander break through racial barriers and find love through music and dance, clashing with their respective families’ fierce opposition to their romance. This forces them to make a bold decision that, though unwillingly, will lead to a crisis in the values under which both have been raised. Based on the theater play [Pogolotti-Miramar], the young couple’s struggle for love will highlight the current reality of Cuba.

  • Jorge Luis Sánchez from Cuba graduated from the Cuban Film School in 1981. He made his feature film debut in 2006 with *El Benny* and has since directed several feature films, documentaries, and TV series, which have won awards at both Cuban and international film festivals.
