Synopsis

In 1977, a young 17 year old guy Valde lives with his mother in a small town Oulu, where an emerging city culture meets the prevailing religious and rural spirit. Punk and the new wave rock are breaking new ground all over the world and their rebellion speaks to Valde. While others listen to disco, Valde plays Lou Reed and New York Dolls. Everyone wears jeans. Valde has his music - and Pike, the prettiest girl in class who Valde secretly loves. When Pike wins the ‘Miss Blue Jeans’ contest and takes as her boyfriend the bourgeois Henri, Valde puts all his eggs in one basket.

  • 마티 키누넨은 베를린고등예술학교에서 영화제작을, 헬싱키대학 예술•디자인 학부에서 시나리오와 연출을 전공했다. 2008년 SOURCES 2 시나리오 워크샵에 참여했고, 핀란드 TV에서 드라마 시리즈를 쓰고 연출하기도 했다. 그의 첫 장편 <미스 블루 진>의 시나리오는 프랑스 감독 가브리엘 아우어와 함께 작업한 것이다.
