Synopsis

​African American singer Carole Alston came to Vienna 30 years ago. The research for a new stage production brings her back to her homeland where she follows the traces of her musical sisters Alberta Hunter, Nina Simone and Sarah Vaughan. The search for the origins of blues and jazz brings Carole closer to her own roots. The history of slavery and segregated America becomes palpable through the music and the remarkable stories about the brave women who defied the hardship of their times..

  • 스테파누스 도마니히는 1967년 이탈리아에서 태어난 감독이자 시나리오 작가이다. 비엔나의 음악과 공연예술 대학에서 공부했고, 2000년부터 프리랜서 감독으로 활동하며 ORF, ZDF, ARTE 등에서 극영화와 다큐멘터리를 연출했다.
