Synopsis

This is a story about a small Makgeolli bar, Seongbuk-dong Makgeolli, where diverse people gather for laugh and cry. Everyone sings about today’s life on their own. With hope and tears, their songs give them strength to live today and make them dream for a better tomorrow. Maybe Makgeolli has some mysterious power. (*Makgeolli: Korean traditional rice wine)

  • Director Sangjun Park graduated from the Department of Philosophy at Yonsei University and the Korean Academy of Film Arts. He directed the short films Our School Representative (2008) and Smile Bus (2011). His film Makgeolli in Seongbuk-dong won the Audience Award at the 2016 Chungmuro Musical Film Festival.
