Synopsis

This film is an intimate portrait of an incomparable talent that explores some of the trials that Gregory Porter has encountered in his life: the absence of his father during his childhood and how jazz music filled the void, encountering racial hostility in his hometown, his wilderness period of 6 years and trepidation in returning to music, the dedication and the triumph, all told through candid interviews and unique, exclusive access in the rehearsal studio.

He specialized in fashion photography and recently developed a passion for cinematography while working with Apple. Focusing on music and art, he aims to show the process of a musician's growth. "The Charm of Gregory Porter" is his first feature film.
