Synopsis

Documentary about the intimate world of pianist Ivo Janssen, on an Amsterdam canal. The musician plays to be heard, but he has his own special way. He decides to build a concert venue below decks of his barge. But the venture has its setbacks. Gradually it becomes clear that he suffers from Dupuytren’s disease, causing his hands to slowly contract, if it is not treated. He passionately and tenaciously continues to play his music and build his concert hall.

  • 호크제 호이프는 1973년 네덜란드에서 태어나 아트 아카데미에서 다큐멘터리 영화를 공부했다. 그녀는 20여년 동안 네덜란드의 드라마 시리즈물과 다큐멘터리들을 편집했고, NCRV 도쿠멘트와 홀랜드 Doc에서 만든 여러 편의 다큐멘터리를 편집했다. <바지선에서 바흐를>은 그녀의 감독 데뷔작이다.
