Synopsis

Edgar Froese, the pioneer of electronic music, is on a lifelong quest for the ultimate sound with his band Tangerine Dream. He processes heartbeats and breathing sounds, and experiments with synthesizers and sounds captured by NASA in space. In January 2015, he died unexpectedly leaving a legacy of 48 years of music history. The film shows previously unreleased footage shot by himself and the people close to him. A tribute to Edgar Froese and the era of electronic music.

  • Margarethe Kreuzer
  • Born in 1964 in Enninger, Germany, Margarethe Kreuzer studied German literature, journalism, and psychology in Berlin, later majoring in dramaturgy at Babelsberg Film School. She has written and directed numerous TV reports and documentaries, and Revolution of Sound: Tangerine Dream and Edgar Froese is her first feature-length documentary.
