Synopsis

Choir soloist Dong-yoon is in danger of losing his spot due to his premature metamorphosis. Meanwhile, Mi-yeon and Joong-ho have been at odds for months, and their relationship has become even more strained recently. Dong-yoon has vague hopes that a successful choral competition will improve their relationship, but as the competition draws nearer, Mi-yeon and Joong-ho's voices go silent and their rift deepens. In a family on the verge of breaking up, 11-year-old Dong-yoon tries to save them from divorce by singing a chorus that may be his last.

Program Note

While singing a solo part in a choir, Dong-yoon suddenly loses his voice on stage. At the age of 11, he has reached puberty, but he doesn't want to accept the changes in his body. Like his cracked voice, the atmosphere in his home becomes chilly. His parents, who have never gotten along, are preparing to divorce. Dong-yoon thinks that if he can perform his usual choral performance, his parents will get along better. The movie gradually builds up the child's anxiety, contrasted with the clear voices of the children's choir. The movie is a coming-of-age story of a child who accepts change and turns to the next page. (Songhee Kim)
