Synopsis

High school band members Ho-jin and Jeong-sook admire the “27-year-old club,” a group of rock stars who have gotten sober, so they form the “26-year-old club” and vow to get sober after they become rock stars. Time passes, and Ho-jin, who has forgotten his vow and is living in the shadows of society, is visited by Jung-sook, who has become a rising rock star. She asks him to perform live with her for the last time. Ho-jin rejects Jung-sook's offer, citing his hard-earned job, but reluctantly accepts at her request. With the performance just around the corner, the two have a special lesson. Ho-jin is tired from his work and practicing, but his time with Jung-sook reminds him of the pure passion he had when he was a band member. However, on the eve of the concert, Ho-jin and Jung-sook have a falling out, and Jung-sook has to go on without him. Ho-jin continues to think about Jung-sook even as he works at his job, and after much deliberation, he rushes to the concert to reclaim his freedom from his stifling life. As Jung-sook sings her new song, Ho-jin takes the stage and sings the song he's been practicing so hard. Ho-jin and Jung-sook sing more freely than ever before.

Program Note

Ho-jin and Jung-sook make a pact to form a "26-year-old club" in order to follow in the footsteps of rock stars who achieved legendary status at the age of 27. Having forged such a bond through a blood oath during their high school days, the two friends find themselves reuniting after nine years in different circumstances. The Live Forever project commences, fueled by the youthful determination of teenagers brimming with boundless possibilities, as it grants a voice once again to those who have lost sight of their dreams amidst the demands of the world. The final scene of the movie, resembling a buddy movie, appears to be the moment when the friendship between adult characters blossoms. (Nam Sunwoo)
