Synopsis

​ ​한진모는 백룡 영화상에서 음악 감독상을 수상한다. 진모를 축하해 주기 위해 집으로 찾아온 수봉과 종태는 같이 음악을 시작했던 옛 시절의 얘기를 꺼낸다. 그때를 회상하던 진모는 현재 매저리즘에 빠져 있는 자신의 모습에 공허함을 느끼고 그 모습을 본 수봉과 종태는 같이 음악을 시작했던 그때처럼 무작정 장비를 들고 밖으로 나간다. 그들이 좋아하는 소리와 주변 소음들을 하나 둘 모으고 진모의 방식으로 편집한 음악은 엔딩 크레딧에 자막과 함께 흘러나온다.

​ Like Simon & Garfunkel's song I Am a Rock, most people often live ordinary lives. The life of Jin-mo, a music director, is also far from colorful and renowned. Two friends approach him, as he recently won an award for his hard work. Together, they embark on a journey to collect sounds, reminiscent of their early love for movies. While movies are typically remembered for their directors, Pick Up is a gracious work that sheds light on the unsung heroes behind the camera. The director of Pick Up is also a musician, which allows us to see those behind the scenes. (Lee Yongcheol)

  • Born in 1984 in Busan, South Korea, Oh Do-e graduated from the Dankook University Graduate School of Culture and Arts with a major in popular music. Pick Up is his first film.
