Program Note

​ The film opens with a scathing critique of corruption and societal injustices, shedding light on pressing issues such as famine, employment, wages, and working conditions. These topics resonate not only in Jamaica, where the film is set but also globally. Babylon yu rasspassionately exposes the resistance against established adults who boast about their accomplishments while disregarding the voices of the younger generation. It is noteworthy that the protests are depicted with earnestness, employing the songs of the group 'Rock Riva' as a performance-like backdrop.
