Program Note
This work tells a tragic love story set in a Roma area of Andalusia. Saura explores eternal themes that have always captivated audiences, including ghosts, magic, and fantasy, through the rich tapestry of Andalusian culture, dance, and music. Antonio Gades, a legendary dancer who continued collaborating with the director until Tango, takes on the lead role of Carmelo, who courageously attempts to liberate his beloved woman from a spell despite facing false accusations and imprisonment.
