Lee Baek-ho and Hyo-jung have two daughters. The older daughter, Chu-ha, is musical and quiet, while Chu-woon is a tomboy. However, Baek-ho favors Chu-ha because she is terminally ill. Growing up together, Za-liang likes Chu-ha, and Chu-yun likes Za-liang, but Chu-ha decides to befriend Kuk-hui, a teacher at a school for the blind, and teach the blind. When Chu-ha learns of her illness, she leaves Kook-hwi's side, but the two are reunited at Seoraksan Mountain. But in Kuk-hui's arms, Chu-ha dies.

Program Note

This film, which topped the box office in 1976 as a coproduced film between South Korea and Hong Kong, became even more famous for the song One Summer Night, written, composed, and sung by its lead actor, Chelsia Chan. Chelsia, who possesses musical talent, is diagnosed with a terminal illness, congenital heart disease, and bravely prepares to bid farewell to her loved ones while composing under the care of her parents. Like many popular melodramas of the 1960s and 1970s, this film may not be outstanding in terms of cinematic quality, but its strong original soundtrack carries the narrative and allows for deep immersion while watching.
