Synopsis

​ Slouchy wants to make a name for himself with his music, but his inner demon Nupti drives him deep into his darkest emotions. Meanwhile, his girlfriend, Lisa, is pregnant and wants Slouch to create a harmonious family life.

Program Note

​ Slouch presents Slouch's life through three distinct chapters. Slouchy has a clone named 'Nuffiti', who embodies her musical aspirations. While collaborating on a song with Nuffiti, Slouchy maintains a joyful relationship with her girlfriend, Lisa. However, when Slouch learns about Lisa's pregnancy, she becomes conflicted. She fears that dedicating herself to family life might hinder her ability to create good music. The director aims to explore whether the notion held by some artists that 'great works arise from a pessimistic state' holds true, using Slouch's journey as a test case. The characters' anguish in response to life's changes elicits deep empathy from the audience. (Cho Hyunna)

  • Michael Bohnenstingl is a director and writer, focusing on character-based stories in animation. He worked on kids-series with studio soi and makes somewhat funny and hopefully touching short films. Occasionally he hosts the alternative film event "Night of Shame" in which filmmakers show their most terrible films.
