Synopsis

Hoon, a promising young boxer, suddenly decides to quit the sport. His coach Mansik, desperate to change his mind, proposes a deal: if Hoon can beat him in the ring, he can walk away for good. The two step into the ring.

Program Note

A young boxer, preparing for a qualifying match, faces off in the ring against his coach—who also happens to be his father. After enduring brutal and often violent training, the son declares he’s done with boxing, but of course, it’s not accepted so easily. What begins as a familiar story of conflict between coach and athlete—father and son—takes an unexpected turn after a powerful punch lands. The boxing ring suddenly transforms into a dazzling neon-lit stage. Hoon tosses off his boxing robe and reappears as a drag queen, proudly declaring, “From now on, I’ll live as myself and bask in the cheers.” His desire, long hidden beneath pressure and expectation, bursts into full, joyful expression through music and dance.
