Synopsis

Bom, a lyricist, finds herself falling in love with Seol-a, a singer-songwriter she works closely with. Unable to confess her feelings, Bom is touched when Seol-a writes a song using the name of a flower Bom had given her. Inspired, Bom begins writing lyrics that express her own feelings for Seol-a. But soon she realizes the song was written for Seol-a’s new boyfriend. Imagining Seol-a happily singing the lyrics she wrote, Bom quietly walks away.

Program Note

The protagonist, a lyricist, harbors feelings that go beyond friendship for her collaborator. But to Seol-a, she is just a “close unnie,” while her affections are directed toward someone else. Though passionate about music, both women in their twenties face the harsh reality of limited opportunities to debut. Amid their struggles, an uncontainable affection quietly grows. While the film may appear to follow a familiar path of youthful dreams and unrequited love, its gentle music and soft visuals create a tender and soothing emotional tone that sets it apart.
