Synopsis

A dreamy summer romance musical told through the iconic songs of Indigo Girls. Musician Doom and the free-spirited Glitter fall in love at first sight and make plans to run away together. But is 29 days really enough time to promise eternal love?

Program Note

Glitter & Doom is a jukebox queer musical inspired by the music of the Indigo Girls. True to their symbolic names, the film follows a bittersweet romance between Glitter, a young man from a wealthy background who dreams of joining the circus, and Doom, a melancholic singer-songwriter. The film’s dynamic and stylish choreography and musical numbers, paired with a psychedelic color palette, create a surreal atmosphere that immerses the audience in the glamorous world of musicals. Enhanced by a dazzling production design, the soundtrack—featuring songs by the iconic 1980s folk rock duo Indigo Girls—guides the viewer with retro vibes. (Choi Eun-young)
