Synopsis

The Black Keys: Garage Brothers follows the incredible journey of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, two neighborhood friends from Akron, Ohio, who started out playing music in a basement and grew into rock and roll superstars.

Program Note

Watching a band grow is always a joy—it never gets old. The story of The Black Keys, now a massive band capable of arena tours, is nothing short of fascinating. Hailing from Akron, Ohio, a place without even a decent club for a blues/garage band like theirs to play, they spent over a decade living in cheap motels during their obscurity. Their fate turned around with the massive hit “Tighten Up.” This is a battle-hardened band history that offers reassurance through their resilience—overcoming burnout and internal conflict with a deep love for their hometown and music.
