Synopsis

A story of a disparate bunch of Czech vacationers thrown together on a one-week package bus holiday to an Adriatic seaside resort. The strange ensemble of characters, led by a plain-faced, witty woman, consist of a minor pop star, a gay couple, a pair of teenage sexpots, a fetching tour guide and cupholder-obsessed two bus drivers. While this may seem like the perfect formula for a holiday in hell, slapstick humor and heartwarming moments abound in this classic Czech comedy.

Director

Jiří Vejdělek

Born in 1972. Entered the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) in 1996. While still a student, his short film Sweets (1999) won Best Student Work at the FAMU Film Festival the following year and was screened in the short film section at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2005, his direction of the TV series Redakce earned him nominations for Best Director and Best Drama at the Czech ELSA Awards.
