Synopsis

Meeting his handicapped 16-year-old son for the first time, a young father attempts to forge a relationship with the teenager. Gianni abandoned the boy at birth, when the child’s mother died, and P a u l o’s aunt and uncle have raised him. They have contacted and asked Gianni to take Paulo to Berlin for a battery of medical tests. Over a few days, Gianni tries to sort out his obligations and his desires. Will he accept his role as father to this engaging, mercurial, disabled youth?

지아니 아멜리오

1945년 이탈리아 칼라브리아 출생. 철학을 전공한 후 로마로 옮겨 조감독으로 일하기 시작했다. 오랜 기간 TV에서 일하다가 1982년 첫 영화 < Blow to the Heart>를 만들었다. 유럽 아카데미 영화상(EFA: European Film Academy)에서 최우수 유럽영화상을 3차례나 수상한 바 있으며 1990년작 < Open Doors>는 아카데미상 최우수 외국어영화상에 후보로 올랐다.
