Synopsis

Yun-hi accepts the marriage proposal of Mr. Park, the president of a pharmaceutical company. But misfortune befalls her when her groom suffers from a stroke at the altar and becomes brain dead. Yun-hi is forced to live in a suffocating environment with the mother and sister of her ill husband who blame the unfortunate incident on her. Wu-seob, Mr. Park’s son, returns from studying in the US and falls in love with Yun-hi. Agonized by the inappropriate nature of her relationship with her young suitor, Yun-hi runs away from home. Woo-seob finds where Yun-hi is and professes his love for her, but realizing the social stigma a relationship with her would entail for him.

1928년 서울 출생. 1967년 <내 몫까지 살아주>로 감독 데뷔했고, 1968년 <미워도 다시 한 번>으로 대표적인 멜로드라마 감독의 반열에 올랐다. 4편이나 더 제작된 <미워도 다시 한 번> 시리즈와 <내가 버린 여자>(1977), <겨울로 가는 마차> (1981) 등의 멜로드라마를 통해 작품세계를 지속적으로 구축해왔다.
