Synopsis

One day in 1979, Magnus and his son Nikolaj hit the wall in their new house in Rykkinn. Magnus is an architect, hippie and free spirit, a glaring exception in a community where equality and conformity is the norm. He always stands up for his son, supporting him unconditionally, even when Nikolaj decides to stop giving a damn. Sons of Norway is a film about rebellion, punk rock, suburban hell and the struggle between freaks and punks. But most of all, it’s the story of an unusual father-son relationship, and about the strength of the bonds we sometimes do our best to rip apart.

  • 단편 <문 닫아>(2000)와 <자연유리>(2001)가 칸영화제에 초청되는 등 여러 영화제에서 수상한 바 있다. 베를린영화제에서 상영된 첫 장편 <조니 뱅>(2003)에 이어 두 번째 장편 <성가신 남자>(2006)는 칸영화제 비평가 주간에 초청되어 수상한데 이어 토론토영화제를 비롯한 여러 영화제에서 30개 이상의 상을 수상했다.
