Synopsis

A shy teenager, Tom is desperate to impress his dream girl, Felix and show the world that he has what it takes to be a rocker. When Steve, a bearded stranger, moves into the flat below and plays rock, Tom is convinced that his unruly neighbor is a disgraced rock star who is faking his death to evade taxtation. Tom agrees not to report him to police on the condition that he will teach Tom the dark arts of rock guitar. Her disastrous marriage to Tom’s father, a failed musician, means she would do anything to protect her son from the evils of rock and roll. ​

  • 1997년부터 웨일즈 국립 영화학교에서 애니메이션을 전공했고, 2000년 첫 단편영화 <로봇들>을 만들었다. 2001년 콜드플레이의 뮤직비디오 [Trouble]과 2003년 라디오헤드의 뮤직비디오 [There There]를 비롯한 여러 편의 뮤직비디오 제작에 참여했으며, 2011년 첫 장편 <매직>을 연출했다. <아래층 록스타>는 그의 두 번째 장편이다.​
