Synopsis

Lee Nan-young, a famous Korean singer, made her debut at OK Records in the 1930s, and married Kim Hae-song, a genius composer at the time. In 1945, the years of liberation, KPK musical troupe gained popularity with the duo of Lee Nan-young and Kim Hae-song untill Kim got kidnapped to North Korea. During the Korean War, Lee produced Korea’s first vocal girl group ‘Kim Sisters’ with her daughters Sukja, Ae-ja and her niece Min-ja who inherited their parents’ musical talent. With the help of Lee’s training effort, ‘Kim Sisters’ caught popularity at the American 8th Army base. They also had a chance to perform in Las Vegas, for the first time as Asians, making strong appeal to Americans. Audience can meet three shy girls who fluently sang songs in English without even knowing the language, through the remembrance of Min-ja in the film.
