Synopsis

Hou Mu-ren was a part of China's first generation of rock musicians in the 80's, a different era when artists of all trades were hungry, anxious, and in search for catharsis and self-expression. Hou is now in his 60's. He suffered a stroke in 2010 and lost his ability to speak for the time. After 3 years of recovery, Hou is ready to compose again. He wrote a rock song that pays tribute to his youth and his illness, which he titled: 'Live like a Fucking Moron.'

  • Hou Zhuxin is a director and producer born in Beijing and a graduate of a film school in Southern California. She has recently been working as an independent filmmaker between Beijing and Los Angeles. Her recent film, , has won awards at various film festivals. She is also a playwright, and the rights to one of her feature film scripts were sold to a Chinese production company.
