Synopsis

The legendary Andalusian guitarist Paco de Lucia died in February of 2014 at the age of 66. He conquered the world by pushing the boundaries of traditional flamenco. This film covers 60 years of musical exploration, and personal development — all the way from the first time the penniless young Paco picked up a guitar in his birth city to the creation of his final album [Cancion Andaluza].

  • Francisco Sánchez Varela
  • Born in Madrid in 1983, Francisco Sánchez Varela studied Audiovisual Communication at San Pablo CEU University. His graduation project, the documentary <Welcome! Mr. Hollywood>, won the top award, and he later studied directing at the New York Film Academy. <Paco de Lucía: A Journey of Flamenco> is his feature-length directorial debut.
