Synopsis

18-year-old Stepphy lives in the Canadian border town of Lonely Arms. She yearns to escape her small town and become a star, but is forced to put aside her dream to stay home and take care of her father. When a famous rock-n-roll star’s car breaks down in her town and a romance blooms between them, it seems her dream will come true, but it’s not so easy. Bang Bang Baby is a funny, inventive rock-n-roll musical that infuses sixties pop culture archetypes with darker, psychological themes in order to create a surreal world.

  • Jeffrey St. Jules studied at the Canadian Film Centre and Concordia University. He won Best Emerging Director at the 2005 Worldwide Short Film Festival for The Sadness of Johnson Joe Jangles. His short film The Tragic Story of Nling, which was also nominated for a Genie Award, was invited to the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.
