Synopsis

A film about the rise, fall, and redemption of a group of spectacular Ethiopian Jazz musicians who in the swinging 60’s ignited an explosive cultural revolution in Addis Ababa. Their music was sublime but this golden era was brought to an end by the military regime that took over the country and forced the musicians into exile and jail. Now, after many years, they are back on a world stage, making up for lost time and still swinging. This film follows the inspirational figures whose amazing life stories illustrate music’s power of redemption.

  • 1984년 폴란드 크라쿠프에서 태어난 마시엑 보치니악은 시나리오 작가 겸 감독, 사진가, 드러머, 제작자이다. 그는 단편 <아이 러브 유 소 머치>(2009)로 데뷔했고, 다큐멘터리 <리셉션>(2011)을 연출했다. 다수의 TV 다큐멘터리, 뮤직비디오, 콘서트, 광고를 만들었고, 장·단편 영화의 각본을 쓰기도 했다. ​
