Synopsis

Gaspar trains for the Malambo dancing tournament. His body aches, but he makes an extraordinary effort in order to achieve his goal. He has visions of his opponent, who has beaten him. He feels resentful, and that inescapable feeling towards his competitor disturbs him. Gaspar tries to improve his technique aided by his instructor, and at the same time, he trains children in the art of zapateo. One day, he bumps into his enemy, the winner of the tournament. His rival is kind and real, and Gaspar's envy and bitterness might give way at that moment.

  • Santiago Loza
  • Santiago Loza was born in 1971 in Córdoba, Argentina. He studied at the Argentine National Film and Video Institute (INCAA) and the Buenos Aires Municipal Theatre School. Loza's work has been screened at numerous film festivals and has won awards both in Argentina and internationally. He has also served as a jury member at festivals such as Lima, Santiago, Toulouse, and Cannes.
