Synopsis

On the surface, < PACHAMANKA - SINGING FOR FREEDOM > is a music documentary about a band recording their new CD, their history and personal stories of the different band members. But if you watch closely there are a lot more to discover here, starting with different concepts of freedom, how to survive as a musician and the fragile dynamics within a group that has existed for almost 40 years now.​

  • ​2012년 빈대학교에서 국제개발을 전공한 마르쿠스 토트는 이미 첫 다큐멘터리 <떠도는 삶 - 칠레 망명자들의 기록>에 대한 작업을 하고 있었다. 그 이후 바로 새로운 프로젝트 <파차만카 – 자유를 노래함>을 시작했다. 그는 4년 이상 파차만카를 쫓아다니며, 뮤지션들에 대한 흥미로운 이야기를 전하고, 무엇인가를 위해 싸운 적이 있는 모든 예술인과 모든 사람들이 공감할 수 있는 주제를 발견한다.
