Synopsis

The film follows the music and life of Um In-ho of Sinchon Blues. He has lived only for music, even though he was born in 1952 and experienced turmoil moments after the Korean War. He performed in nightclubs for a long time and debuted late, but maintained his creativity. Once a famous singer, he is now recognized by only a few people. But still, he is on stage, singing and writing songs. The film shows not only music but also how a human being finds the reason to be, overcoming downhill moments through music.   • He started his film career as a lighting technician for the film Joint Security Area (J.S.A.). He has worked as a cinematographer on more than 10 films. His first documentary as a director is The Neighbor, which won the Biff Mecena Award at the 2016 Busan International Film Festival and the Grand Prize at the 2017 Disabled Film Festival. Trip of Blues is his second documentary film, which took two years to complete.
