Synopsis

Close to the India-Myanmar border is the village of Phek in Nagaland. Almost all people in the village cultivate rice for their own consumption. They sing as they work in cooperative groups. The seasons change, and so does the music, transforming the mundane into the hypnotic. The love that they sing of is also a metaphor for the need for the fellows and the community, to build a polyphony of voices. It is a musical portrait of a community of rice cultivators and their memories of love and loss.

  • 아누슈카 미낙시는 영화제작자 및 지역사회 영상 트레이너로 활동해왔다. 이슈와르 스리쿠마르와 2011년 시작한 ‘우-라-미-리(우리의 소리) 프로젝트’는 다양한 예술 형식을 통해 일상의 음악에 대한 이야기를 전달하는 프로젝트이다. 이들의 작품은 뭄바이 국립현대미술관과 분키에르 스추키 현대미술관 등에서 전시된 바 있다. ​
