Synopsis

This film is an experimental short where animation meets the grand tradition of Italian opera. In a paper theater, the walls of the stage design become the notebook pages of the protagonist, Prosdocimo, a poet wandering through Naples in search of inspiration for his new story.

  • Born in Parma, Italy, Monica Mangialli is a director, set designer, stage designer, visual artist, and special effects art director. Symphony for Rossini is her second animated film, and she is currently working on her first feature animation film, Turandot – The Chinese Princess.
