Synopsis

Argentina’s decision to establish the Astor Piazzolla Memorial enabled this documentary’s production. Son of an impoverished immigrant family in New York, Piazzolla guided new trends in tango through non-traditional yet powerful performances and works that are still considered masterpieces. The film is an exceptional documentary that shows everything about Piazzolla, the figure who elevated the state of tango from dance music to art.

  • 다니엘 로젠펠트는 1973년 부에노스 아이레스에서 태어났다. 그는 작곡가와 피아니스트가 되고자 했지만 결국 영화에 입문하여 크쥐시토프 키에슬로프스키, 앤서니 밍겔라, 압바스 키아로스타미의 세미나에 참여하기도 했다. 그의 첫 다큐멘터리 <살루찌: 세 형제와 반도네온을 위한 구성>은 베를린 영화제에 초청되었고, 두 번째 장편인 <영웅들의 키메라>는 베니스영화제에서 두 개의 상을 받기도 했다.​​
